A Cruise on the Balearic Sea

A small part of the Mediterranean is the Balearic Sea, where you'll find islands such as Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera and Cabrera, which make up the archipelago. Lying in the Mediterranean climate zone, the Balearics draw a great many tourists and sailors. Time for another cruise!

The cruise starts in the port of Palma on the island of Mallorca, from where we set off on a night cruise towards Ibiza, to the port of Santa Eulària des Riu. Ibiza, called the Island of Peace or the White Island, lies in the centre of the archipelago. By many people it's considered the most party-oriented place in the world. Life on it begins after 11 p.m., when tourists and locals party in clubs such as Pacha, Space, Amnesia and Paradise.

The most beautiful beaches

Formentera is the fourth largest island of the Balearics. It's famous for its gorgeous sandy beaches and a large number of naturist tourists. One of the longest beaches (about 8 km long) is Platja/Playa de Migjorn. On the island itself, besides the beaches, you'll find salt lakes and mud baths.

The water here is wonderfully azure, the sand yellow and it's very warm. From the yacht anchored off the shore, we sailed in by dinghy. On the beach itself you can see fenced-off sections of land that belong to a reserve. There are also nests in which animals lay their eggs.

The Balearics are a true slice of paradise located a few dozen kilometres from Spain. This place guarantees excellent rest on sun-warmed beaches, breathtaking caves, picturesque mountain monasteries and charming villages in the valleys. Wonderful sunsets, warm water and gorgeous beaches. The coast can sometimes be very rocky. Sailing along it, you can admire lighthouses and the residents' buildings standing on the cliffs.

The Dragon Cave

From Formentera we sailed towards Cabrera and then all the way to Porto Cristo, which is on Mallorca. One of the more interesting attractions in this town is the Dragon Cave — Coves del Drac. It boasts one of the largest underground lakes in the world, on which concerts of classical music are held.

In the great hall over the cave lake of Martel, concerts are held. The lights are switched off and 3 delicately lit boats sail out, on which an orchestra plays classical music.

The Old Market Square in Łódź

As tends to happen at the end of the year, a little grumbling is in order. That Łódź is a different city from all the rest, I probably no longer need to prove to anyone. Sitting in front of my computer, I realised yet another fact that sets this place apart. We have no Old Market Square!

Foggy Wanderings Around Łódź

Some time ago I went on night-time wanderings around Łódź. The city seemed to me empty, sad and gloomy then. On a certain foggy evening I wanted to set out again and capture the beauty that Łódź hides somewhere within itself.
