When I was in the mountains in winter for the first time, I immediately fell in love with the views there. This year I decided to visit Slovakia and spend one night on Lomnický Peak. The ride up to 2,634 m above sea level seemed very simple and pleasant. In the morning we were to leave the mountain hut.

Standing in port and watching the lightning out at sea is a truly amazing experience. Mooring in port in a very strong wind, and another storm to round off the season. That's how you can describe the September cruise on the Adriatic.

A huge fire threatened the city, and from Trogir, where we were moored, you could see an enormous cloud of smoke. By morning the yacht was covered in ash.

After my first solo cruise in Croatia, the time came for another. This time my crew was more focused on touring the cities, old towns and architecture of Croatia than on sailing. Our home and transport was the yacht Bavaria 44 BT '02 - Cougar.

Coming back from the Adriatic cruise, our crew went to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Last year I visited Krka National Park, which is similar to Plitvice Lakes. The biggest attraction is the 16 karst lakes connected to one another by numerous waterfalls. The trails in the park are very well marked and connected.
