The Missus Let Me Go on a Cruise to Croatia

A year ago I went sailing to Croatia. It was my second-ever sea cruise. The first I did on the Baltic, and I already knew that I liked sea sailing. After passing the exam for yacht sea skipper, the time came to organise my own first cruise. The choice fell on Croatia. The Adriatic is a fairly simple body of water, and on top of that it's warm there.

Młyn w Talarze

The Mill in Talar

In my area there are many interesting places. One of them is the tiny settlement of Talar, which lies on the river Grabia. There you'll find a mill, which I managed to see at sunrise.

"Rejs na piwko" Kłajpeda 2015

"Beer Cruise" Klaipeda 2015

My most recent sea voyage had been the "Próchno i Rdza" (Rot & Rust) rally. Even back then we decided that after the New Year we would sail somewhere together. Our destination was Klaipeda, a city on the Baltic Sea coast in the western part of Lithuania.

Besiekiery Castle

Near Łęczyca there is a small village — Besiekiery. The village is famous for the ruins of a late-Gothic castle. The castle is supposedly inhabited by the devil Boruta, who won the building in a bet with a certain knight.

Nalewka kokosowa

Coconut Liqueur

Sweet liqueurs and cordials are very much to women's taste. While making coffee liqueur, I was thinking about another sweet treat that would go with chocolate. And so I headed to the shop to buy coconut in various forms. Coconut liqueur is very simple to make.

Likier miętowy

Mint Liqueur

Minttu peppermint liqueur tastes best with ice cubes, tonic, snow or chocolate. Unfortunately, it's produced in Finland. For my own needs I had to make a mint liqueur of a fabulous green colour.

Toruń - ósmy cud świata

Toruń – the Eighth Wonder of the World

I first came to Toruń on my way back from Bergen. A friend from the plane showed me the view of the old town as we drove by car. From a distance the place looked gorgeous. Later I visited Toruń to photograph the illuminated city.

Bunkry w Sieradzu

Bunkers in Sieradz

In Sieradz, near the river Warta, you'll find 5 shelters created as part of the operations of the Łódź Army, formed in 1939. Its purpose was to defend the strategically important areas of Łódź and Piotrków, and to protect Warsaw from the enemy's main strike from the direction of Wrocław and Opole.

The Icelandic Pony That Wanted to Be a Horse

After sheep, another animal very important to the life of Icelanders is the pony. It was bred in Iceland and, like the sheep, adapted very well to the conditions prevailing on the island.

Islandzkie owce

Icelandic Sheep That Won't Get Off the Road

Travelling across Iceland you can come across sheep on your way. Whole flocks of sheep on pastures scattered across the island. The merciless weather makes these animals truly exceptional.

Warto zobaczyć na Islandii

Worth Seeing in Iceland (Part 5)

The tour of Iceland is coming to an end. From the town of Akureyri we now head west. Driving around the long and gorgeous fjords, we reach the town of seals — Hvammstangi. There you'll find the Selasetrið Icelandic Seal Centre, from where trips to watch seals set off.

Warto zobaczyć na Islandii

Worth Seeing in Iceland (Part 4)

Northern Iceland could be called the dark edge of Europe. Volcanic lakes, caves formed in hardened lava and craters are some of the few attractions that await us in the north. One of the more important places worth seeing is the lake Mývatn.

Warto zobaczyć na Islandii

Worth Seeing in Iceland (Part 3)

Heading north and then west, we come across more waterfalls, hot springs and volcanoes. The journey across Iceland continues. From road number 939 we return to "the One" and drive towards Akureyri.
