The Dry Island of Hydra
The island of Naxos tempts with beautiful cliffs and marble mountains. But the most beautiful island I visited was Hydra (Greek: Ύδρα). It belongs to the Saronic Islands archipelago. A characteristic feature of Hydra is the fact that there are practically no cars on it.
Few roads and a strictly enforced ban on the use of motor vehicles, including bicycles, mean that people get around on horses, mules and donkeys. Cars are used only by the municipal services and ambulances.
Although there aren't a large number of hotels or guesthouses on the island, quite a few tourists come to Hydra via ferries from the mainland. Hydra is a very small island. It is very rocky and just 20 km long and 3.5 wide. Its highest peak is Eros — 593 m. It lacks beaches, and its slopes are rocky and drop straight into the sea. In the stony coves, concrete steps down to the water have been made.
Hydra is called the dry island on account of its chronic lack of fresh water. To meet the residents' needs, water is delivered by floating tankers from the mainland.

The Old Market Square in Łódź

Foggy Wanderings Around Łódź
Some time ago I went on night-time wanderings around Łódź. The city seemed to me empty, sad and gloomy then. On a certain foggy evening I wanted to set out again and capture the beauty that Łódź hides somewhere within itself.
